The Forward Newspaper Online: Israeli Report Calls Argentina Bombing Payback for '92 Raid
This report, very belated it seems, corroborates what is widely concluded by close observers, namely that the 1994 bombing in Argentina was payback for the assassination of Hizballah Secretary General 'Abbas Musawi. It may also be noted that the killing of Musawi was the context for Hasan Nasrallah, the present leader of Hizballah. Nasrallah has been an extremely effective leader, which suggests that the killing of Musawi worked against Israel's interests if Israel calculated that by killing Musawi Hizballah would become a less formidable opponent.
