Florida governor seeks probe of Schiavo's collapse

Intent not to let Terry Schiavo rest in peace, especially when political capital is at stake, Jeb Bush is now harrassing the poor woman's husband. The best that will come of this is that Jeb, who is gunning for President in 2008, will alienate voters who already found the Florida Governor's interference in the Schiavo case distasteful as well as an overreach of governmental authority. Jeb Bush's earlier efforts--notwithstanding the long-distance diagnosis of Senator Frish--were rebuffed by the courts. No doubt, this investigation will also fizzle but not before Jeb wins some points with the Republican party's al-Qaeda ("base").
KRT Wire | 06/17/2005 | Florida governor seeks probe of Schiavo's collapse: "Embarking on what may be a politically risky path, Gov. Jeb Bush reopened Terri Schiavo's case Friday by asking a prosecutor to review a perceived delay by her husband in seeking medical help after her collapse 15 years ago."
