Eric Davis of Rutgers offers a new blog

Eric is a very bright scholar of the Middle East. His Memories of State is master work on the idea of the state in Iraq, particularly in the pre-Ba'thist era.

Davis has started a blog. Rather than posting frequently, it seems that he will periodically post thoughtful extended essays on his New Middle East blog. His 10 Conceptual Sins in analyzing Middle East politics is a thoughtful sample of what is to come.

I have been up to my ears a variety of projects, but I resume blogging at a regular pace this week.
