Daily Star remembers its slain founder
The Daily Star - Politics - The Daily Star remembers its slain founder: "Lebanon's journalism community marked a sad occasion on Tuesday, the 40th anniversary of the assassination of Kamel Mrowa. Mrowa, one of Lebanon's most prominent believers in freedom of speech, was shot to death in his office on May 16, 1966. Mrowa was the founder and publisher of the pan-Arab newspaper Al-Hayat and its sister publication, The Daily Star. Eventually, his dedication to freedom of the press cost him his life."
