(IsraelNN.com) The Egyptian government has cancelled the license of a weekly publication affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood, a veteran Islamist movement responsible for many acts of terrorism in Egypt.

The weekly, Afaq Arabiyah, was put out for many years as a voice of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, even as it was published by an organization affiliated with the Egyptian Liberal party.

The Muslim Brotherhood is an outlawed organization in Egypt; however, individuals affiliated with its ideals have run for parliament and made impressive gains. Similarly, its ideas are spread under varying names, technically distancing themselves from the Brotherhood. Egyptian authorities have periodically arrested and released various members of the Muslim Brotherhood for crimes related to undermining the regime, incitement and terrorism. "
