The Campagna-Kerven Lecture Series at Boston University

The 2008 Campagna-Kerven lecture on modern Turkey, which will be held on April 16, 2008. This year’s speaker is Henri J Barkey, a respected political scientist, former government official, and leading authority on Turkey. His lecture is titled:

Where Have Old Friends Gone?
US-Turkish Relations since the Iraq War

Professor Barkey is the Bernard L. and Bertha F. Cohen Professor in International Relations and International Relations Department Chair at Lehigh University. He has served as a member of the U.S. State Department Policy Planning Staff, and the author, co-author or editor of five books, including Turkey's Kurdish Question (with Graham Fuller). His articles have appeared in leading journals and newspapers, including Foreign Affairs, Current History, the Washington Post and the New York Times.

The site is The Castle, 225 Bay State Road, on the Boston University campus. . The closest "T" stop is BU-Central on the "B" line. Should you wish to drive, you will probably be able to find meter parking on Bay State Road. (For further information and more directions.)

Tea will be served at 4:30 o’clock p.m. and the lecture we followed by a reception in honor of the speaker. The lecture, followed by a question and answer period, begins promptly at 5:00 o’clock p.m.
