Members of the Egyptian elite are accustomed to cruising above the law. The arrest of Hisham Talaat Moustafa for the murder of Suzanne Tamim is an important development. Moustafa is not just rich, but he is a member of the elite inner circle. He is not only a member of the Shura Council but a member of the ruling party's Policy Committee, which is chaired by Gamal Mubarak, the son of the president. Tamim's gory murder has been extensively covered in the Egyptian media.
