Whether it is a "Syria first" or an "Israel first" position, Arabs and Israelis need to find a solution to their 60 year old problems. The role US foreign policy should play is very critical and essential. The more important part in this statement, however, is describing the US role as critical.
It is an almost universal view among Arabs the Israel is the ‘pampered son of the US’. Whether through military support or economic collaboration, the Israelis are the first to receive their US aid packets at the beginning of every year, in cash, and before any other Arab country receives half of that amount (per citizen). Hence, it is critical for the US not to have favorites in the peace talks - not just between Syria and Israel, but any Arab state and Israel.
