Doe v. Rumsfeld on the question of the stop-loss "backdoor draft"

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals has announced that it will hear argument on the legality and constitutionality of the Army's "backdoor draft" on October 21. This will be the first time a higher court will hear a direct legal challenge to the so-called "stop loss" policy that requires soldiers and reservists to remain on active duty in Iraq and Afghanistan well beyond the end of their enlistment terms.
