Obama distanced himself from Carter. Obama insisted that Hamas denounce terrorism, abide by past agreements and recognize Israel's right to exist (which is not the same as insisting that Hamas recognize Israel's existence).
But it did him little good in Pennsylvania where Hillary Clinton received 62 percent of the Jewish vote.
