Not noted in this otherwise informative account is the fact that Turkey and Iran share a keen interest in putting a damper on Kurdish nationalist sentiments among Kurds in Turkey and Iran, respectively. As underlined here before, the two countries routinely coordinate their actions and reactions in the vicinity of Iraqi Kurdistan.
