As noted here before, Olmert has been clearheaded for some time about the fact that peace requires Israel with withdraw from most or all of the West Bank, as well as the Golan Heights. He has been saying these things privately, according to people to talk to him, for several years, but he is out of the closet from months. This NYRB piece reproduces his earlier interview in Hebrew.
No doubt, his sleazy doings make it easy for some people to blow off his message, but his words are measured and thoughtful.
